Are You Searching For Your Glory or His? – Part I

Smith Wigglesworth and many others ministers believe the secret to moving mightily in the power of Elohim (God) is to not steal God’s glory. It is easy to steal God’s glory when someone thanks you for the message you spoke into his/her life. At the same time, I believe many think they have stolen God’s glory, but the truth is they have stolen their own.

Let’s turn to the word:

For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.” – Isaiah 48:11

The brilliant shine Elohim (God) designated for those who won’t give Him the glory due His name has been yanked away and so easily given up for worldly security and the accolades of men.

“So for men to search their own glory is not glory.” – Proverbs 25:27b

Listen my son, my daughter. It is not wise to search for your own glory. Elohim (God) Himself said for His own sake He would not allow His name to be polluted and that He would not give His glory to another. Are we waiting for Elohim (God) to glorify us or are we self-promoting ourselves and seeking our glory? In other words, what trade are you making for the glory?

Let’s talk about polluting His name. When you market Him like a cheap product, you pollute His name. When you cast the glorious pearls He gives you to swine, you pollute His name. Remember, a pig will eat anything; even what they have already digested and regurgitated. So who are you deceived into believing you are feeding? Stop the pollution. Take down the shingle with your name on it as your ministry name. Lift the blood stained banner higher than your banner. Lift up the name of Jesus that all men may be drawn to Him. I admonish you to not lift up your name so that people may be drawn to you. You see Jesus’ reputation is sure. He’s already proven who He is. So, it’s really your choice. Go with a reputation that is proven, sure, and unpolluted or go with your own, which can be polluted, tarnished, and blemished.
