Are You Searching For Your Glory Or His? – Part II

“So for men to search their own glory is not glory.” – Proverbs 25:27b

Yesterday the Lord used me to mentor you in shifting out of searching for your own glory into allowing Him to be completely glorified. In this same vein, we discovered that self-promotion is a form of robbing our own selves of Elohim (God) glorifying us and causing us to shine brightly for Him. I want to take you a little further today in the area of self-promotion.

Promotion does not come from the east or the west, but from above (Psalm 75:6-7). How about letting Elohim (God) promote us . . . from above? Promotion is released from the heavenlies when Elohim (God) deems it is the appropriate time. If more leaders in ministry walked in this revelation, they could rest from all their self-promotion endeavors. How many leaders do you know that run around on and offline promoting their name, ministry, or business? Sadly, many of them do so before Elohim (God)’s appointed promotion time.

Let’s learn to trust and allow the Elohim (God) of heaven to release our promotion from above. In essence, you let Him cause someone to seek you out for the sole purpose of promotion. They are an Elohim-sent (God-sent) vessel who walks into your life with “Let another man’s lips praise you” stamped within their very being (Proverbs 27:2). This is their assignment and sole purpose . . . to praise you (i.e., the [God] in you, promote the [God] in you).

Elohim (God)’s criteria for promotion are different than man’s. Are you searching for your glory or His?

Resting gloriously in Him,

One Response to “Are You Searching For Your Glory Or His? – Part II”

  1. Michaela Church says:

I have been guilty of self promotion. It’s very easy to self promote, especially when you get prophetic insight/discernment, etc. on people and their situations (i.e. you have the ability to read their mail). It’s very easy in those times to take the focus off of God and put it on ourselves. But one thing I have noticed is that when I've done that in the past it was in large part due to my own insecurity in who I am in God. I thank God for bringing me through the process (not done yet) where His opinion of me is the most important thing.
