Be Still and Know I am God – Part I
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. – Psalm 46:10 KJV
When we follow Yashusha’s (Jesus’) ministry, we notice He purposely carved out time to pull away from the crowds, the masses, and the work Elohim (God) assigned His hands. This was His “be” time with His Father. I believe many ministers of the gospel have completely missed this Kingdom pearl. We must pull away from work, family, and everything else on a consistent and regular basis to simply “be” with our Father too.
This “be” time is not spent whining, complaining, talking about problems, ministry, “the church” or anything else for that matter. This time is spent reflecting on who He created you to be. That’s right an entire day, hour, week, or some other designated period of time to focus on your identity and inheritance. I do this on a regular basis, and it has been integrated into the time I spend with Him daily. I have been doing this since 2004, and I have noticed that some of the most intimate things Elohim (God) has shared with me are birthed out of this time. My purpose is not to necessarily hear from Him, just to be with Him. The other thing I’ve noticed as an outgrowth of this time is that I have become what I’ve meditated on. For truly we become what we focus on.
Here are just some of the scriptures I reflect on during this time:
And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. – 2 Corinthians 6:18 AMP
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. – Ephesians 2:10 AMP
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. – Matthew 5:14
I want to challenge you today and tomorrow to turn off the computer (after you finish reading the blog, of course, and have jotted down the scriptures) to enter into His presence via reflection on who you are and your inheritance in Him. Notice: I did not say enter into His presence by speaking in tongues; playing five worship songs. I call this revving up. There is no need to rev up when your spirit is filled with the knowledge of His will, which is His word. The word is alive, active, and powerful all by itself. It’s always ready to accomplish exactly what Elohim (God) intends.
Resting gloriously in Him,
