What sin is dwelling in you? – Part I

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

7 Therefore, what are we to say? That the Torah is sinful? Heaven forbid! Rather, the function of the Torah was that without it, I would not have known what sin is. For example, I would not have become conscious of what greed is if the Torah had not said, “Thou shalt not covet.”

8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, worked in me all kinds of evil desires – for apart from Torah, sin is dead.

9 I was once alive outside the framework of Torah. But when the commandment really encountered me, sin sprang to life,

10 and I died. The commandment that was intended to bring me life was found to be bringing me death!

11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me; and through the commandment, sin killed me.

12 So the Torah is holy; that is, the commandment is holy, just and good.

13 Then did something good become for me the source of death? Heaven forbid! Rather, it was sin working death in me through something good, so that sin might be clearly exposed as sin, so that sin through the commandment might come to be experienced as sinful beyond measure.

14 For we know that the Torah is of the Spirit; but as for me, I am bound to the old nature, sold to sin as a slave.

15 I don’t understand my own behavior – I don’t do what I want to do; instead, I do the very thing I hate!

16 Now if I am doing what I don’t want to do, I am agreeing that the Torah is good.

17 But now it is no longer “the real me” doing it, but the sin housed inside me.

18 For I know that there is nothing good housed inside me – that is, inside my old nature. I can want what is good, but I can’t do it!

19 For I don’t do the good I want; instead, the evil that I don’t want is what I do!

20 But if I am doing what “the real me” doesn’t want, it is no longer “the real me” doing it but the sin housed inside me.

21 So I find it to be the rule, a kind of perverse “torah,” that although I want to do what is good, evil is right there with me!

22 For in my inner self I completely agree with God’s Torah;

23 but in my various parts, I see a different “torah,” one that battles with the Torah in my mind and makes me a prisoner of sin’s “torah,” which is operating in my various parts.

24 What a miserable creature I am! Who will rescue me from this body bound for death?

25 Thanks be to God [, he will]! – through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord! To sum up: with my mind, I am a slave of God’s Torah; but with my old nature, I am a slave of sin’s “Torah.” – Romans 7:7-25 CJB

Many of us are acquainted with Apostle Paul’s flesh struggle in Romans 7.  This is the chapter right before he broke out in Chapter 8 and said, “Now, there is therefore no condemnation to those who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh!” Many ministers have selectively used these two chapters as justification to keep doing what they are doing and give God what they want to give and not what He is asking for and requiring of them.  I know, I know . . . every time I head down this direction, people will rise up and say, “Judge not or you shall be judged.”  I am judged by the word of God just like you, and the word says, “Teachers shall be judged more harshly and held at a higher standard.”  What makes us think we can teach and preach this word and continue to justify our sinful actions?

What Did You Come Off The Mountain With?

Friday, November 6th, 2009

WHEN THE people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, [they] gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, Up, make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. – Exodus 32:1 AMP

A part of this scripture holds true today.  Truly, the leaders have been gone too long.  The people have made their own leaders and those leaders are false gods.  Unfortunately, when they came back, they didn’t come back with anything from the mountain because they really didn’t stay in the real secret place to get anything tangible from God to bring to the people.  This is their practice; they say, they are going to consecrate, fast, and pray, and they come back empty-handed.  They come back with nothing for the deliverance and salvation of the people God’s assigned their hands, and the people know it now.  It’s predictable.  So they no longer wait for their leaders to release strategies and instructions.  They go whoring after other gods because they know they will get some direction, even though it’s false direction, hope, and wisdom.

It’s time to come out of prayer with something.  It’s time for this scripture to be a truthful reality!  True Elohim (God)-sent leaders, it’s time to come forth.  All creation awaits what Elohim (God) has given you.  Stand up Moses’ type and be accounted for.

See Jeremiah 13 for further study.

Sent by His Glory

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Yesterday, we learned that God has precious mysteries, gems, treasures, and instructions for those who purposely “be” with Him.  We will expand this concept of instruction today.  There have always been leaders who men choose to reign and rule and then there are those that God chooses and sends.  I often refer to God’s choice as “sent leaders” and man’s choice as “unsent leaders.”  The differences between the two are amazing, but the first thing I want you to know is that sent leaders are given specific ministry assignments and instructions for God’s people.

Sent leaders wait on God; thereby, allowing Him to complete the making process through brokenness, humility, and many visitations. Over time, these visitations turn into a habitation for God, Himself. When they are sent out to minister, they bring the very throne of God with them. They bear His instructions inside their very being. If God were to allow me to look inside you right to your spirit, what would I see?  My prayer is that I would see the commands of God written upon your heart, mind, and soul. I pray I would see His instructions written deep within to the very bowels of your being.

For this is where very true authority begins. Note . . . begins, not ends. For it is not enough to just have them written upon the tables of your heart. You have to obey them and put them into ACTion in order for the authority to be seen. I’m going out on a limb here and saying something that may come against UGB’s (ungodly beliefs). I believe that each apostle/prophet has a specific set of governmental instructions, commands, and scriptures written within their spirit man.

What leads me to this belief? Ezekiel 28:13. If Lucifer had pipes and cords implanted in his spirit by God to perform his role in worship (and even more, BE WORSHIP), how much more you . . . “to be” and fulfill the role God has called you to?! Those instructions within, of which I speak, become demonstrated authority when ACTed upon. What do you believe is written in your spirit man, if anything?

Resting gloriously in Him,
