When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet. – Proverbs 3:24 AMP

For a dream comes with much business and painful effort, and a fool’s voice with many words. – Eccl 5:3 AMP

We spent the last several days focusing on entering rest by casting all of our cares, anxieties, fears, and worries upon Adonai (the LORD) so we can enter into His carefree glory and glorious rest. Today, we (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) mentor you in the area of your sleep.

I’ve seen a connection between where our focus lies throughout the day and what type of sleep we get throughout the night. Whatever you spend your days worrying about will determine what type of sleep you get as well as how long you sleep, if at all. It also impacts if you dream and what you’re dreaming at night. How many times do you dream about the last thing that was on your mind right before you drifted off to sleep? Mentees, the things that keep you awake or that enter your mind when you first wake up reveal the heart of your cares and anxieties, as well as establish whether your sleep is a sweet, glorious rest.

I challenge you to get still right before going to sleep. Spend 10 minutes focusing on who Elohim (God) is, what He’s promised, and pray that your mind be renewed to His word prior to going to sleep. Checking your e-mail or social networking activity may not be the wisest thing to place in your spirit prior to going to bed. Use wisdom and discretion here. You should also avoid interacting with people who sow discord, strife, are malicious, and keep stuff going all the time. These folks thrive off being their flesh. I must remind you that are flesh is our enemy. The last encounter of the day should be with Ruach haKodesh (Set Apart Holy Spirit), not flesh!

My prayer for you is that from this post forward as you apply what your being mentored in here that you go to sleep with a renewed mind, full of His Spirit, and ready to receive divine manifestations (e.g., visions, dreams, go on trips—translations) that are produced by setting an atmosphere for sweet, glorious sleep.

Responding to His glory,

In prayer today I began expressing to Elohim (God) that He is the only lover for me. As I began to say, “You are the lover of my soul!” He had me pause and ponder that phrase. If my soul is full of Galatians 5:15-21, is He the lover of my soul? I don’t think so. He does not love sin. He does not love the works of the flesh. He loves our soul only when it is totally surrendered to Him. In order for us to bellow out the phrase, “lover of my soul,” we need to examine not only what’s in our soul, but the position and alignment of our soul. You see, our soul is designed to be mastered. It is to be trained, beat, and whipped into proper alignment and that alignment is under the subjection of Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit). When your soul is in the background and His Spirit and evidence of Him working through (e.g., His fruit) then you can say, “He loves my soul!” Let’s not forget what our soul is comprised of.

The only way He loves our emotions, will, and thoughts is if those emotions and thoughts are what He feels and thinks. As it relates to our will, He loves a submitted and surrendered will, not a stubborn will. Do people often refer to you as “strong willed?” Is that strong will strong about what He wills or what you want, feel, and will? The answers to these questions reveal whether or not He loves your soul. Can you truly, honestly say, “He’s the lover of my soul” today? I can and will while simultaneously acknowledging areas I must continue to surrender and submit to daily. We must die to what we want, feel, and think. We must lose our life to find it deeply embedded in Him. A dead soul is a loved soul! He is the lover of my dead soul. He loves the areas in my soul I’ve surrendered, submitted to His lordship and brought into proper alignment by His Spirit. Oh, yes He does!

Broken by glory,

Ministering mentees,

I come to mentor you today in the fact that in order for the glory of God to manifest itself in you and through you, you must make glorious choices. Today, I became famished and was short on time. I wanted a tuna sandwich from Panera Bread. Before I jumped in the car and headed there, I carved out a few moments to go online and check out the nutritional facts on this sandwich. Lo and behold, this sandwich is 750 calories, contains 1130 mg. sodium, and 13 grams of sugar. So even though it is very high in protein, calcium, and iron, the sodium, sugar, and calories brought me to a screeching halt. I knew I needed to re-think my strategy. I’ll defer that tuna sandwich for when I can make it at home and be in control of the ingredients.

So, I headed straight to Duchess for a chicken garden salad filled with fresh greens, carrots, green peppers, red onions, and a homemade cucumber dressing. As I sat in the car, I had a chance to change my mind when the $5 special (i.e., big ole hamburger and fries) sign became larger than life. As I steered away by the power of Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit), I heard Him say, “Make Glorious Choices!” and then one of my banner scriptures (1 Corinthians 10:31) for eating well came up for me.

Minister, we cannot eat and drink what we want and expect the glory of God to manifest in us and through us. Either He is living in us daily or He’s not. He chooses to dwell in vessels who make decisions that bring Him glory. So the next time you make what may seem the simplest decision (e.g., what to eat), make a glorious choice!

Resting in His glory,

So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31 AMP

I’ve been mentoring you to begin eating and drinking for Elohim’s (God’s) glory. Today, I want you to do three things in order to move closer to eating and drinking for the glory of Elohim (God):

Go back to the last couple of blog posts and see what action you’ve really taken. If none, then apply what you’ve been learning and cut out one or two things that you know are not good for your temple.

Prayerfully ponder the following questions and then journal what Elohim (God) impresses upon your heart?

Would Elohim (God) eat whatever, whenever?
Would Elohim (God) eat because He’s not feeling well?
What is Elohim’s (God’s) nature as it concerns eating?

Search the scriptures for what our forefathers, Jesus, the disciples, and angels ate. What themes did you notice?

I know we stayed on this topic for almost an entire week, but it was worth every minute if it ushers you into greater well being and care for your temple. Before we close out, I want to remind you that I have a resource to help you continue on your journey to eating and drinking for Elohim’s (God’s) glory. Gohereto continue the journey.

Resting gloriously in Him,
