The 12 Attributes of Glorious Living
Yesterday, we illustrated what a spirit-led life looks like. This introduced us to the concept of the beginning of a glorious lifestyle versus a carnal life. To assist you in knowing whether you are truly living in the glory of God, I have prepared this list of attributes for you.
- Humble service
- A life of praise, worship, and prayer
- Obey at all costs
- Breaking man-made traditions (consistently)
- Respect the law
- Do not follow blind guides or false leaders
- Know who you are (intimately cognitive of what God says about you)
- Unswayed by man’s opinions
- Unpopularity
- Only speak what Father God says
- Exude love
- Generously meet the needs of others
Where did I come up with this list? As always, I look to my mentor, role model, and Savior Jesus.
- Jesus served - He came to serve, not to be served.
- Jesus lived a life of praise, worship, and prayer.
- Jesus obeyed God at all costs, even to death on the cross.
- Jesus consistently broke man-made traditions.
- Jesus respected the law and authority, but He did not follow blind guides or leaders who did not walk in the truth.
- Jesus knew who He was and man’s opinion of Him did not sway Him.
- Jesus did not have a good reputation per se and was not popular in the eyes of man.
- Jesus only spoke what His Father told Him, and His message was not popular and it definitely was not what the leaders of His time wanted to hear.
- Jesus generously met the needs of others.
- Jesus exuded love and compassion.
- Jesus’ primary aim was to bring God glory.
Notice there are 12 attributes. With 12 being the number of government, I submit to you this is the way to govern in glory, leaders.
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. – Acts 17:28 KJV
It is only in Christ Jesus that we can even begin to manifest the 12 attributes of glorious living, and this is our inheritance as his offspring.
