What do you know?

But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. – Habakkuk 2:14 AMP

Many of us hear this scripture and Joel 2:28 and we jump to the conclusion that the masses – everyone – is going to walk in His glory (e.g., His presence, Spirit).  This post comes to bust up this myth.  The truth is just because I’m filled with the knowledge of the glory doesn’t mean I’m experiencing the blessing of dwelling in His glory.  If you read the old covenant, you’ll notice this statement, “. . . and then you will know that I am the Lord.”  Okay, now when Elohim (God) says this, it is because He’s demonstrated His glory (defined as His character, nature, and power) through judgment.  He humbled the people and demonstrated His power by allowing their enemies or a plague to overtake them (see Ezekiel 15).  Now, you see that’s not the kind of “knowledge” we think of when we quote our scripture reference today.  Is it?  So, we don’t know what we think we know.  His thoughts and ways are higher than ours.  So, the next time you or someone else you know gets ready to jump up and down in excitement over this scripture ask yourself, “What do I know?”

Who can know the mind of God except the Spirit of God?  So don’t repeat things inspired from man’s soul (e.g., intellect, reasoning, opinion, or thoughts).  We need to ask Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit), “What is God’s mind on this, that, or a particular scripture?”  The best learning posture for the revelation of Kingdom secrets is to discard all you think you know and come like a little child who absorbs all the teacher teaches with eyes and ears wide open and attentive.  Our posture should be:  “I don’t know anything; teach me, Lord!”
