When will it be Over? – Part I
Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O Elohim (God), forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. – Psalm 71:18
As children of the Most High Elohim (God), we need not fear getting old. When you allow your eye and ear gate to be filled with the world, you fear or dread getting old.
There are numerous examples in the bible of God’s strong presence, power, and hand in the lives of those who grew older. I think of Caleb who was 85 and just as strong as when He was 40. He wasn’t frail or blind. He was still seeking the Lord with fervor, vigor, and life.
I strongly believe that by focusing on the word of Elohim (God) and the power of Elohim (God), you can live the same way in your older age. I’m looking forward to going from glory to glory. I know Elohim (God) will allow me to live long and in perfect health/strength. Here are some scriptures that have me convinced:
Psalm 91:16 – With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalm 118:17 – I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
Here is the key: Your motivations for desiring long life must line up with God’s in order for you to experience long life. I see from these scripture my purpose for living is to declare His works and see His salvation.
Psalm 71:18 is something you can pray and declare that will put things in perspective. I don’t know about you, but I want to live long enough for this generation and the next generation to shew forth God’s glory, power, and strength! So, I’m not worried, puzzled, or asking, “When will it end?”
For me, it’s just getting good!
Resting gloriously in Him,
